We are looking at e-commerce options! For now, if you're interested in any of the following eco-friendly, locally made products, send an email to email@example.com. All the following products are based on the spicebush swallowtail butterfly larvae: the caterpillar. Maybe one of the cutest caterpillars on earth, and native to our area of the world, this adult butterfly uses only the native spicebush (Lindera benzoin) and sassafras (Sassafras albidum) as host plants to lay its eggs for future generations. Fun fact: those eyes are not really eyes! They're only eye spots that make the insect look bigger and scarier to predators.
At this time, we are able only to offer these products for local pick up in Champaign.
We hope to start shipping sometime in the nearish future!
Needle Felted Caterpillars
These needle-felted caterpillars are made by one of our owners with 100% wool. Each takes 3-4 hours to make by hand! They're great for children but need to be handled with a little care so the spots don't fall off!
$30 for a big one, $22 for a little one.
Wooden Magnets or Pins
Local Urbana business Pipapo made our logo into magnets and pins, and they are adorable! Each one is hand made out of birch wood and hand painted. We've got either green or orange, as this caterpillar changes into both those colors in the wild! $18 each.
Butterfly Lifecycle Poster
One of our owners designed this educational poster. It shows why we chose the spicebush swallowtail caterpillar as our business logo. The butterfly uses only native plants to lay eggs, and the caterpillar is a master at mimicry. $10 each.
